Behavioral Health Infrastructure Project (BHIP)
SIPCW serves as project lead for the Staten Island Performing Provider System (SIPPS) Behavioral Health Infrastructure Project (BHIP), which focuses on restructuring the health care delivery system by reinvesting in the Medicaid program. BHIP focuses specifically on the mental health and substance abuse infrastructure to reduce unnecessary hospitalizations by increasing access to quality behavioral health services on Staten Island.
SIPCW works toward this goal by strengthening partnerships with local and government agencies, building capacity for collaborative care in primary care settings, providing cultural and linguistic trainings on behavioral health, and establishing an infrastructure for data sharing.
