“Behavioral health” often is used to describe the connection between our behaviors and the health and well-being of the body, mind, and spirit. This includes behaviors such as eating habits, drinking, or exercising that either immediately or over time impact physical or mental health. Learn more about SIPCW’s two behavioral health projects:
SIPCW’s physical health projects aim to improve health outcomes and prevent chronic illnesses for all Staten Islanders. By encouraging physical activity through access to affordable programs, healthy eating by expanding access to fresh fruits and vegetables and teaching children healthy habits at a young age, Staten Islanders will have a chance to live healthy lives.
