Coordinator of Child Health and Wellness Initiatives
The Staten Island Partnership for Community Wellness (SIPCW) is hiring a Coordinator of Child Health and Wellness Initiatives to provide day-to-day support in achieving shared goals of the Child Wellness Initiative (CWI) and the SI Asthma Coalition – public/private partnerships established to reduce childhood obesity, asthma, and the burden of chronic disease in Staten Island through policy, systems, and environmental change.
Key responsibilities include ensuring grant reporting requirements, community engagement, communications, and data management. This position reports to the Manager of Child Health and Wellness Initiatives.
Manage and facilitate workgroup coordination and projects
Track and report progress based on program indicators
Work collaboratively with partners to develop and implement work plans
Responsible for reporting on and managing grants
Support community engagement and build key relationships
Maintain a list of community partners and events
Research, recruit, and orient new coalition members
Facilitate ongoing communication and requests from community organizations
Manage communication and social media platforms
Represent initiatives at external meetings and partner events
Maintain understanding of current landscape of local and regional activities
Work with CWI Manager to identify potential funding sources and coordinate work of grant writer as needed
Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred
5 plus years of experience in Public Health or Non-Profit
Minimum of 3 years of community outreach/engagement
Research evaluation experience and comfort level collecting and analyzing data
Must be able to work independently
Must be proficient in full MS Office package – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher
Detail oriented and solution oriented
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent facilitation and project management skills
Salary Range: $50,000 – $55,000 commensurate with experience.
