Coordinator of Child Health and Wellness Initiatives

The Staten Island Partnership for Community Wellness (SIPCW) is hiring a Coordinator of Child Health and Wellness Initiatives to provide day-to-day support in achieving shared goals of the Child Wellness Initiative (CWI) and the SI Asthma Coalition – public/private partnerships established to reduce childhood obesity, asthma, and the burden of chronic disease in Staten Island through policy, systems, and environmental change.

Key responsibilities include ensuring grant reporting requirements, community engagement, communications, and data management. This position reports to the Manager of Child Health and Wellness Initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:
 Manage and facilitate workgroup coordination and projects
 Track and report progress based on program indicators
 Work collaboratively with partners to develop and implement work plans
 Responsible for reporting on and managing grants
 Support community engagement and build key relationships
 Maintain a list of community partners and events
 Research, recruit, and orient new coalition members
 Facilitate ongoing communication and requests from community organizations
 Manage communication and social media platforms
 Represent initiatives at external meetings and partner events
 Maintain understanding of current landscape of local and regional activities
 Work with CWI Manager to identify potential funding sources and coordinate work of grant writer as needed

Job Requirements:
 Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred
 5 plus years of experience in Public Health or Non-Profit
 Minimum of 3 years of community outreach/engagement
 Research evaluation experience and comfort level collecting and analyzing data
 Must be able to work independently
 Must be proficient in full MS Office package – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher
 Detail oriented and solution oriented
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills
 Excellent facilitation and project management skills

Salary Range: $50,000 – $55,000 commensurate with experience.

Finance and Contracts Manager

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Manager of Finance and Contracts will provide financial analysis and support working closely with BTQ Financial, an independent contractor  that provides various levels of fiscal services to the Staten Island Partnership for Community Wellness (SIPCW). The manager should be comfortable interacting with all levels of staff as well as any outside organizations, have a strong  understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and have an interest in the non-profit sector. The position requires a highly motivated individual who is comfortable with multi-tasking and addressing competing priorities, along with strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Organizational Overview

SIPCW is a nonprofit organization established to promote wellness and to improve the health of the Staten Island community through collaboration and a multidisciplinary approach.  

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison with BTQ financial and advise ED on financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, and policy matters
  • Assist in developing the annual budget and forecasts throughout the fiscal year
  • Provide support for preparing the annual audit and submission of the IRS 990
  • Assist in developing reports for board presentation
  • Assist in developing budgets for any new grant proposals
  • Modify existing budgets to reflect new revenue
  • Provide fiscal oversight for grants and ensure timely preparation of fiscal reports
  • Provides analysis of government, foundation, and corporate restricted grants in terms of variances to budget and allocation of expenses including personnel and OTPS
  • Interpret financial information for practical use by Project Managers to identify and flag and issues for resolution
  • Implement all contract and grant registrations, projections, and closings
  • Ensure compliance with contract and grant provisions
  • Prepare and modify budgets for all contracts
  • Coordinate and submit monthly/quarterly invoices to funders to ensure timely reimbursements
  • Approve and process invoices
  • Coordinate with Office Manager on vendor management
  • Coordinate with HR on payroll administration, timesheet processing, and PTO accruals
  • Other projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • BS in Accounting/Finance or related field
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in contracts management  and financial analysis. Accounting, experience a plus.
  • Understanding of federal, state and New York City funding and reporting requirements.  Demonstrated experience in Federal Cost Principles (OMB Circular A-122) and GAAP as it relates to non-profit organizations
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (especially Excel)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong creative problem-solving ability
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, manage time effectively, multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
  • Ability to properly represent the organization to government agencies
  • Ability to interact with all staff in a professional, courteous, culturally sensitive, and tactful manner

Salary: $70-80K – Commensurate with experience
